delay when streaming all movies

I am using quicktime 6.5.2 and any videos I play have a 2 sec video delay. So I am I hearing sounds then the actions happen a few seconds later. This happens on saved files and streaming movies. This also only happens with quicktime, windows media player and real player work fine. Anyone know if this is a common pc problem? or how to fix it? I am using a geforce4600ti video card if that matters. I only use my pc for schoolwork and games, so I'm not real sure how to fix this kinda thing.
