Delay when answering calls

When an external call come in on the phone at one specific locations there is a 3 to 15 second delay before the person calling us hears us.

Anyone got any ideas?

If it continues to be a problem I would look at QOS or the phone.

Some people are like slinkies.
Not really good for anything but they bring a smile to your face when pushed down the stairs.

This has been going on for about 3 weeks now. not sure what is wrong. It happens on all phones. Looking at QOS now.

Is the call coming from the PSTN or is it coming from another site networked with this site?

it is coming from external PSTN (though we are on a PRI)
