Delay in VM light

I have a user that says the Voice mail light on her phone sometimes takes a while to come on, sometimes a day or two.

What could cause a delay in the notification light?

It is an older NAM voice mail with a MICS running REL 4.0 software
 
Tell the user to delete some messages.
There's not enough room left for the new message.
If CLS is still at default there's only 15 min. of storeage time for CLS 1. Or what ever CLS is assigned to the mailbox.
Message time goes by CLS.(Class of Service)
 
I think the messages are being left it is just not giving her the light to let her know they are there.
 
In order

-Reboot and test
-Delete and re-create the mailbox and test
-If it is a heavily used system then maybe upgrade the channels, check out Access (F915) and look at the port status.
-Re-install programming to clear any bugs

Nortel has recognized that this is an issue on some of their NAM's. Usually it only happens on one or two mb's, and only intermittently. Curly's suggestion typically clears the trouble for a few months. Upgrade to 4.1, as Brian said, if you want to fix it permanently.
 
I have a client with same issues with a 4.0 that is growing worse.
Can you still upgrade to 4.1?
I thought End Of Life on 4.1 was 12/31/06.


 
Upgrade kits and keycodes are still available out there. If you have trouble finding those, there are plenty of 4.1 NAM's out there on the market, or you could upgrade them to a CP.

If you do go with a CP, make sure you check the sw release of the KSU. You'll want 4.1 or better on that.
 
I would look into the directory and delete all old mail boxes and tell users to delete all old messages.
