We are having problems with receiving email in a timely manner. Many of our users are now complaining about the pop-up box that says "Retrieving data from exchange server...". This usually happens now and again to several random users, but it is happening a lot now.
We have 2 exchange servers - MSE2000 on W2k and MSE2003 on W2k3. About half of the users are on each server (we are migrating them over to the MSE2003 server). Most of the problems are with users on the original MSE2000 server. The original server has been real slow the last 2 days. It is running a process "SMSESp.exe" as 3 different processes. This process is the Symantec AV for Exchange service. Is this supposed to be running 3 separate processes?
Users on the new mail server are also experiencing delayed email, but they dont have the other issues as those on the original mail server (i.e. slowness in outlook, pop-up message etc.). What should I be looking at to solve this problem?
A quick response would be most appreciated!!
