We have some new 2950 switches. When we connect any device to the switches, the link indicator for the port will turn orange and sit there for a good 30 seconds or more before turning green. Non of our non-cisco switches have this delay. Is there a way to turn this off? DHCP clients actually time out before the link goes green. Very annoying.

Nevermind. I found a post to help me fix it

Sounds like spanning tree? :) That's always a good gotcha when someone pays big bucks for a Cisco switch.

Add command "switchport host" to each user port , do not use on any connecting links to other switches or routers.
