defunct oracle process after patching

Folks,

I got a problem on one of my Solaris 8 box. after installing patch with 117350-36, there are alot of defunct processes generated by oracle. removed this patch, the problem is still there. Please give some advice on this issue.

Did you do a reconfigure reboot after applying the patch in single user mode as recommended? It appears to be obsoleted by 117350-37. Could you try the latter?

FYI "preap <-F> –pid"
kills of defunct processes, see "man preap

Marrow, are you sure preapp is available in Solaris 8?

The problem has been fixed. Needs the patches for VXVM and VXFS prior to 117350-36 applied on this box.
