Defining variables 1

Hi guys,

this should be easy.
basically what i'm doing is very simple:
I define a number of variables like this:

$url="

http://www.blahblah.com";

Then later in the script

mail( "$email", "$subject", "$message_hdr
$download_title: $url

But I want to set up defaults like this:

$def_url="

http://www.blahblah.com";

if ($url="&quot $url=$def_url;

Am I going about this the right way? I want the user to be able to specify the variables using hidden form fields but if they do not specify them then the script should use the default variables $def_foo

Doing it this way is leaving the output blank, any ideas please?

Well $url is probably not set rather than blank... try this.

$def_url = "

http://www.blahblah.com";

if (!(isset($url)) || (isempty($url))) {
$url = $def_url;
}
