I try to use MS SQL Server to access data from 3rd party SQL Server via ODBC. ODBC System DSN pointing to 3rd party SQL Server is operational (tested with MS Access).
I created an connection server in MS SQL Server (Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Driver, data source name of System DSN).
Questions:
1.) is this configuration complete, or what is missing?
2.) can you explain the error messages I got:
error 7311: schemarowset of OLE DB-Provider 'UNKNOWN' couldn't be received. Provider supports interface, but returns error code at usage: UNINTYP: Unsupported InfoType: 1209 ?

Please, give me some hints how to set up a correct communication.

Thanks in advance,
