I have some fields with the data type "number". The default vaule is zero from the start. But I want the default value to be blank so the users don't have to keep on deleting the zero. But when I delete the zero Access keeps on putting it back. What do I do?

Go to Table Design view, select the field, and down at the bottom in the General field properties where it says Default Value, delete that 0.

That's what I've been doing. I go to the design view, look up the General tab, I delete the zero in the default value section and access always puts it back.

Thanks for the help. I got it now. Access was acting up so I just turned it off and back on again and now its working

Is it telling you you can't save changes to the design? Is it a linked table? Are you entering data through a form where the default value of the control might also be set to 0?
