Hi,

I have a very silly problem that I can't fix. Our Windows 2003 server is running terminal server and the default keyboard layout and date format is US rather than UK no matter how I try and change it. I have tried changing this, but every user that logs in picks up the US settings, rather than UK so each user has to be modified the first time they log in. What is going wrong? Why won't it remember the setting?

This is also happening on a Windows 2000 server as well. I got round it by modifying the default user, but I don't want to do it this way.

Thanks

Katie

Sounds to me like upon initial setup, the default was set to US with US Keyboard layout. Try going in as the administrator of the local machine and changing the settings. If this doesn't work, take a snapshot (using or some other software, and I know there are free versions, I just don't have the time to find them now) of the .reg, change the language and keyboard setting, then another snapshot, and compare the two, then you will know what .reg entries need to be changed for all users (via login script, but beware, registry changes need to have certain permissions from the user).
