On other systems this is simple but on AIX I can not find the file that creates the default .login file when you setup a user to use the /bin/csh shell. I know in the /etc/security directory is where the default .profile exists, but what about when creating users to use the C-shell? where is the default .login creation file?
Does anyone know of a work around besides manually copying an existing .login after the user is created?

Hi wpdavids

for csh users on aix platform the variables are set in /etc/csh.login and /etc/cshrc file.
But these params are overwritten by users home dir $HOME
files .cshrc and .login files
These two files in home dir is a must for c shell aix user.

fyi
.profile is vital in $HOME for bourn and korn shell users.
also please check cshell user whether he is in RIGHT shell
by using : echo $SHELL
Let me know if u are still unclear about what I said
