After installing exchange with the standard settings I've recieved the following errors:

"--------------------------------------------------------
Microsoft Exchange Warning
--------------------------------------------------------
The following warning(s) were reported while loading topology information:

get-StorageGroup
Completed

Warning:
Object First Storage Group has been corrupted and it is in an inconsistent state. The following validation errors have been encountered:

Warning:
Could not convert property LogFolderPath to type NonRootLocalLongFullPath. The path cannot be root directory.
Parameter name: path

Warning:
LogFolderPath is mandatory.

OK

There was nothing modified during the install selection. The server is brand new with a partition designated for OS, DB and logs with plenty of room.

Any idea how to correct this LogFolderPath error??

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Things to check.
What is the default install path for Exchange?
Have you got the disk space on that drive?
Do you have the right permissions for the box? Local admin, domain admin, schema admin etc?
Is there a folder in the default install folder for Exchange called mailbox? If so, what is in it?

default install is under the C: drive (root)and program files.

I do have full premissions on all.
My C: has 74GB and I tried moving the databse to my E: driver (180GB) under a folder called Exchange databse. I also tried to manualy move the log file to my F: frive (20GB).

I do have a Mailbox folder under C:\program files\microsoft\exchange server\Mailbox

What do you mean you tried to manually move the log files to F?

change the log path of the databse. (using the move command)

Did you get any errors on that? Did it complete correctly? Feels like that command may not have changed all of the settings in reg and that is why you have a problem.

The problem is that it gave me the error even before I tried to change the log path.

When I look in the directory expecting to see a First storage grop.edb (or any .edb file) I only see a very long catalog reference something like "(shdgru-2345-dkfjg-mmckp-wjhdhfh)" but much longer.
