When setting up the parameter - choose the date data type, then press the button to set the default.

I have seen this in several threads.
Why do I not have this feature ??

I have CR7.

Any suggestions.

Thanks,
Geoff

Hi Geoff,

Well, I have several versions of Crystal Reports, and they all function the same way.

Create a new parameter - give it a name, and select the data type by dropping down the box and choosing a data type.

Right underneath that drop down box is a "Set Default Values" button. Press it. Voila!

You must create a new paramter through the Insert menu or the Field explorer box.

Hopes this sorts the confusion.

Cheers,

Hi Paul,

Thanks for your reply.

I've sent you an email showing what I see!

Geoff

Hi Paul,

It would appear that you have a newer version of CR7 ??

My version is 7.0.1.192

Yours is 7.0.200.4

Is yours the latest version of CR7 ?
Do you reckon Seagate will do a free upgrade for me?

Thanks,
Geoff

Version 7 was released with 2 versions of the parameter window. The older version, if I remember correctly, has the default controls on the main parameter window. The newer has a button for a separate window for default controls. Ken Hamady, On-site/Phone Crystal Reports Training/Consulting

Hi Ken,

There's nothing wrong with your memory!

The features relating to the value description are new to version 2 by the looks of it.

That's the bit I thought was useful!!

Geoff

Don't suppose anyone has got a spare CR7 Pro version 2 disc going free??

You might be able to get that update from the Crystal web site, but I can't guarantee it. Ken Hamady, On-site/Phone Crystal Reports Training/Consulting
