Hello All,

With the old C4040 DECT handsets it was possible to do a DECT site survey after you entered a special code. You could see the signal strength and the base station ID on the handset.

Is there a site survey option available in the new C4060 or C4070 handsets? If so, what is the code to enter the “special” menu?

Thanks in advance,

Marc D.

Below is a basic breakdown of the C4050 site survey mode display and the meanings of the entries seen, hope it helps.

Short description of what you see in Site-Survey of C4050:

Line0: RFPI 0002427428 <- a)
Line1: FE PP: 1 FP: 4 <- b)
Line2: -dBm 56 84 78 <- c)
Line3: RPN 28 20 03 <- d)
Line4: <- Softkey/Icon line as normal

a) Actually locked base ID (RFPI).
b) Number of sync/ACRC errors (Frame-errors) within the last update cycle of 1 second.
This information is only valid for the exiting link to the in Line0 named base.
The shown value is for the PP the number of detected Sync/ACRC error within
the last 100 receiving frames (-> 1sec.).
The shown value is for the FP the number of received Q1/Q2 bit information within
the last 100 receiving frames (-> 1sec.). This information is interpreted as
Sync and ACRC errors on the base receiving side.

c) Actual field strength information (RSSI) for the base locked to (first entry)
and the seen additional RFPs stored in the RFP-table. The value is shown in
dBm. The RSSI value of the RFP-table is updated in a 250ms cycle.
This causes an update of any entry in a table with 3 RFPs every 3 * 250ms = 750ms.
If the RFP could not be synchronized for an RSSI-update, the RSSI value is
decreased by 3dB. This implies that an entry will be deleted after a while,
if for example the dummy-bearer position has changed or the RFP isn't reachable
anymore. If a wrong RFPI is received on the to be checked position (Slot/Carrier)
the entry will be deleted.

d) The line contains the RPNs of the RFP-table entries in respect to the above
line containing the RSSI-values.
MDECT C4040 & C4050 site survey mode

To use the C4040/50 handset in site survey mode..

press R, ***, 76, # This displays a new menu, select site survey and then ok. To restore handset use same sequence.
Information displayed relates to signal strength and base station id (in hex).

Hi,

Thanks for the information. Now I finally know what everything means!

But that wasn't really the question. According to our customer the R***76# code doesn’t work on the C4060 and C4070 handsets. He doesn’t have the C4040 sets anymore.

But I'm going to another DECT customer tomorrow and he has the C4070 as well. So I will try tomorrow and let you know if it also works on a C4070.

Thanks again for the detailed information!

Best regards,

Marc D.

Hi,

Just tried it on a C4060 and the code doesn't seem to work...

Best regards,
