Hello
I seem to have a problem with the debugger? since upgrading from D3 to D4.
My latest project uses an ondraw to update a string grid, with data in the .object parameters, so there is lot of scope for exceptions, which occur in the background.
The problem is that the debugger dosent seem able to do a program reset.
I get a debugger is already running message if I try to reset.
If I get to the stage where the program has apparently stopped, the application won't build (it would seem that it hasnt stopped at all).
The program is not listed in the W98 close program box.
but is listed under running tasks in sysinfo.
To be able to rebuild I have to restart Windows!!
Is this a problem with D4 or maybe my wiindows installation.

Anyone any ideas Steve..

I had this problem on D4 as well,

However after a lot of studying I found that it was because I set the main form to always on top. This meant that the main form covered the debug mesasge and you cannot perform the click to the dialog (causing the apparent hanging of Delphi 4).

Maybe this is your problem as well.

Thanks Schu

The stringgrid thing is completed, so I am not getting the problem as often, but I will certainly check the always on top thing.

Thanks again.
Steve.
