Is there any way of setting a default profile, so that all user who log onto a W2K machine, get the same wallpaper and screen saver settings. I have changed the reg key "HKEY_USERS\.default\Control Panel\Desktop so that the wallpaper entry is what I want, but this only changes it at the logon point, and as soon as a user logs on, they get the W2K default wallpaper / screen saver.

Help ???????

You can do this for all users who haven't currently got profile folders set up (so, for example, remove them all - move them elsewhere at least, then set up as follows. All users will then get default wallpaper & screensave & any other aspects of profile you set up. They will be able to change these though - unless you've instigated policies to stop this).

Method.

Create a new user. Set it up as you want users to look by default (wallpaper & screensaver in your case - but can be start menu, desktop items...). When finished, log out and log on as administrator (or with administrator access). Go to system properties, user profiles tab and use the copyto feature to copy the profile you've just set up to \Documents and Settings\Default User. Set permissions for everyone to have access. Now all new users (ie, without profile on machine) logging on will get this profile.
