Dear All,

I need to lock Regional Settings from being changed by user, is it possible to do that using VB6?

Regards
Winanjaya

My VB6 app requires fixed regional settings (date format = mm/dd/yyyy and thousand digit is "," and decimal digit is "." )

but my users always change it to their own settings.. that's why I need to lock it thru my VB6 app..

any idea?

thanks a lot in advance

Would it not be better (and I think this is what SBerthold is driving at) to build your application so it can handle the users different regional setting rather than forcing them to use a regional setting that is favoured by your application?

Hope this helps

My advice, I'm afraid, would be to take a different approach and modify your program to work with whatever regional setting your user selects.

Yes it is.

Winan, why does your App need this?
All the tools and methods are available in VB6 to work with numbers and dates in whatever the user chooses for these settings.

What you're suggesting is an example of bad behavior on behalf of an application. For more information, have a look at
If your VB6 app requires fixed regional settings, that's a problem with your application that ought to be fixed. If you're a user, you aren't going to like it if some application alters the regional settings. Even if it puts them back, the user ought to be able to do other stuff while your application is running, and shouldn't be working under the regional settings you impose.

I would rethink this.
