I have a vector that gives my callers the ability to press a number to be routed to specific hunt groups. No matter what option they pick there is a five to seven second delay of dead air on the phone. Even if I add wait X secs while hear ringback or music, the pause is still there before the ringback or music plays. Does anyone have any idea how I can remove the pause from this vector.

how many digits are you collecting and how many digits is being entered? If you are collecting, say, 4 and the caller is only pressing 1, then the inter-digit timer is playing a role (this is at the disp system feature, under vectoring called prompting timeout). sometimes vectors are written where 3 to 4 digits extension and sigle digits options are combines in a collect statement. probably be best to post a copy of your vector.

I have no technical solution to your management problem

I would check to see if you announcements have any dead air at the beginning or ends. If not look at your timeout options on the system parameters features under vectoring. I run about 20 vectors (Small compaired to most) and found if I lowered my timeout settings it would help the delay
Look for "Prompting Timeout (secs): 10"

In the future everything will work...

Try <Change System-parameters Feature> page 11 on my S8700 v12, there is a line on the form: Prompting Timeout (secs): 4 this number can be changed to anything but not less then 4 seconds. Check to see if you have it set higher.

Thanks
