I have a 2250 console where the operator sets that is dead. The second 2250 we have set up works fine. I swapped them out and the known good phone does the same thing. When you plug it in to the connector the phone tries to enable itself, but then displays nothing and responds to nothing. I tried disabling it and reenabling it with no success. Any suggestions?

Move the TNs that the console and power are on or swap the digital line card to see if that helps. Make sure pwr tns are connected

Have you checked the wiring if that's not it then I would change the card out.

I had a similar issue and it turned out one of the power TN's went bad. I moved the entire unit to a different card and it came to life. Got a replacement card and all is well. Have you verified all of the cross connects are tight on the frame?

You don't have to connect the pwer tn's for a 2250 to work. If the there a re back lighting issues on the display or distance, then you need the power tn's, just easier to connect them & save future hassles.
Rather than using tn's for power, you can supply 50v dc from your rectifier.

correct on the not needing power, did the console work at one time.. if so the layer one (copper) should be good. any time a unit did work and quit..
enlu disu
is copper good?
is the set good?
is the card good?

after that try moving to a different ipe or at least card.
in tough cases i have connected a unit in the switch room to elimate copper.. i have gotten a new console new out of the box that was bad, twice out of maybe 500

Thanks for all the info!
Sprint is on their way out to look at it. I have tried to DISU and ENLU with no effect. I hope they can figure it out.

Ok my money is on cable or card. Good luck...

Thanks for all the input.
The Sprint Tech and I toned out the copper and it was good. We then swapped out the digicard with another in the switch and everything works fine now. There was no indication that the card was bad, but I guess a TN or two had some problems.

very normal to have a bad card with no notice being given. in the future you might want to disc two cards and swap them, watching to see if the trouble moves... one bad port can kill the console, swap the cards, you've got one bad phone..move the phone then wait for the vendor to replace the card... might save you some down time
