How do you change the filepath for a project? My projectis located on network drive k and when I browse the tables Im looking at network files but when I run a form I am changing my test files (same project name) on my local drive. How do I change the path for the DE on forms?

Hi
You dont have to change the path. If your data files are kept in the path, the tables will be picked up by VFP. So all you have to do is specify the path.. in the intial path statement.

What is an 'initial path statement' and where does it go?

I never got a response to the above... What is an 'initial path statement' and where does it go?

You can use SET PATH TO in your startup program.

Something like:
SET PATH TO F:\projects\datadir

in your MAIN.PRG.

OK, I tried putting a set path statement in my initial program and that still does not change anything.
Maybe I did not explain this well in the beginning. When I view the data environment for a form, select one of the tables and look at its properties, the database property shows c:\whatever. This property is not modifiable. Please help. The only way I can find to correct this is to remove each table and re-add them to the environment from my network drive. This is too much work, as I have some rather complicated relationships with many, many tables.

Can't you just put them all in a folder and drag to new location in my computer explorer? then use set defa to (new drive location) in your command window

There's an excellent tip in the latest issue of FoxPro Advisor telling how to correct pathing problems in the data environment. From the sound of things this may be the solution you need.
