DDS4 Compatability for ARCServe in SCO 5.0.5

Hello,

I recently purchased a Dell PowerEdge 1400 and I am in the process of installing 5.0.5 onto it. The server comes with a Dell Powervault DDS4 DAT Drive (in actually a Connor Archive Python DDS4).

I'm running ARCserve/Open version 2.2 and while I can successfully configure it to see the drive, eject tapes, etc. It refuses to report the media type and backup/restore operations do not work.

SCO's online help is rubbish (non-existant for ARCServe Open) so I'm here pleading for a little advice.

Q - I know for certain that ARCserve works with DDS-2 DAT drives, can anyone confirm it will work with DDS4?

Q - Does ARCserve need patched to read DDS4 and if so, what?
