I am going to build an AMD Athlon 1.4 gigahertz system really soon. It will be my first completed AMD system, as I have only really been working with Intel for the past 3 years. I had a question about DDR RAM. The new Athlons run on it, and as I can guess, it probably get REALLY hot. Where would I go to get a decent heat spreader, besides Thermaltake? Any info. would be appreciated, thanks.

Well I cut an old CPU heatsink into strips, worked them down nice an neat with a grinding wheel, file and emery cloth, finished by glass grinding them with fine valve lapping paste so they were nice and flat. All you need then is some thermal epoxy resin to glue them on! or thermal tape!! Martin
PS you wouldn't know they weren't factory made!

Thanks for the site, John. I'm always looking for a better supplier.

Thanks for replying. It's frustrating when people don't respond to a post.

Glad I could help.

John
