I seem to be having a problem with stabillity. I just formatted my computer with a fresh copy of 98SE. I even installed the Windows Updates just to be safe. But the problem is, that randomly my system will freeze. It seems to be a over heating thing but i run fairly good temperatures (48C Load) on my Athlon 1700+ I have PC2700 DDR and i just lowered the Clock from 166 MHZ, to 133. I want to know if settign the RAM clock different then the FSB (set at 133) will cause this problem, or any problem. Thanks cause this problem has been bugging me. And i'm getting a little tired of my systems random crashes....
P.S. Not the power supply either; 350 watt

What is your motherboard make/model? If you have a Via Chipset, make sure you download and install the latest Via 4-in-1 drivers in 98SE and update the BIOS.

You shouldn't have to lower the clock speed to 133...

If you is in any doubt with the memory, just test it. it's possible to find out the memory testing utility and check the memory for errors. I now use the DocMemory RAM Diagnostic Software (don't regard it as advertising) test utility ( when needed. It have the memory heating test checking the errors caused by possible overheating.
