I have 2 DCs connected to the network through a 24 port, 10/100 switch (192.168.10.0 network) .. ok fine all is good.
The 2 DCs also have Gigabit NICs installed so I'd like to configure the DCs to replicate (due the large DFS root they both serve) solely through the Gigabit NICs using a crossover cable and ... say the 10.0.0.0 network. Anyone know how I can acheive this or should this occur automatically.

I think through AD sites and services and set up a link using the nics

Thanks to both of you. I have setup a static route in the Hosts file on each server pointing to the other server and it works although not completely ... every now amd then the two servers still seem to communicate with eachother through the Switch.

Anyway, thanks again for the input and well done penauroth on supplying me with that previous thread. How do you remember them all !!

In your hosts file make sure you define an entry for the NETBIOS name and the FQDN.

Ex.

10.0.0.1 myserver # NETBIOS
10.0.0.1 myserver.mydomain.com #FQDN

Good Luck!

Paul

Thanks again Paul, right enough, I didn't actually put an entry in for the FQDN ... but I'm gonna.
Thanks yet again,

Steve
