DC/GC removed

I had to seize roles from a W2K DC/GC and have been operating for about 1 week after the transfer of roles to another DC/GC. I would now like to ntdsutil /metadata cleanup Will this have any affect on my current Exchange 2003 environment or will it stop giving me the LDAP bind error server down. Should this be done at low network traffic times so that replication can occur and no users are affected by this change?

So long as the Exchange server has been reconfigured then you'll be fine. The Config DC, The DCs that the OAB and RUS point to should reflect the new DC.

make life easier on yourself and do the cleanup using the script at the end of my FAQ faq96-4733. WAY EASIER then using ntdsutil.
