I have a DBT file that is approaching 32 meg and the Clipper application that accesses it is starting to go bonkers. I've tried doing a COPY TO, but I get only minimal reduction in the DBT. There are many records in the DBF that have been deleted and packed over the years. Is there a utility out there that can remove all the unused memos from the DBT?

Thanks for any assistance

Rob

A utility, DSALVAGE, may be able to do it. I know it has features such as 'packing the .dbt' so I suspect it will do it.

Pl. refer a book by Stephen J Straley (addison wesley publication), in which he describes how to handle such suitations and pack the dbt file. I had referred this about 5-6 years ago and found to be very useful.

Good Luck

suggest you use Comix or Six index library. Convert the dbt to Fpt - they become much smaller, and are more stable.
