DBI installed but not loaded

ok i installed DBI via ppm (i have ActivePerl 5.8 on Windows XP) i'm sure that i put use DBI(); in my .pl file
but it prints this: Can't locate object method "connect" via package "DBI"
What seems to be wrong?

What database driver are you using? Can we please see your full DBI connect string?

(Sounds like you are not calling the proper driver or your drivers are not properly installed)
