DBI Alternative

Hi Fellas,

Does anyone know of a reliable commercial alternative to DBI? I'm developing a proprietary app that needs to make ODBC connections to a database.

Both DBI and DBD::ODBC can be distributed under Perl's Artistic License, which will let you use them in your commercial application, AFAIK.

Thanks Ishnid! I've just posted a question on DBI forum (from Tim Brunce's site) to see if I can get a definitive answer on how the Artistic License works. Thanks for the pointer.

Could you post here to let us know the outcome? Although the License seems to allow packaging with a commercial product, I'd be interested in hearing a definitive answer too.
