I'm running 6.61 sp2 on an NT 4 sp6a server, using VLDB. My database size is approximately 1.2 gb. I've got pruning enabled (30 days), but I haven't packed. I ran dbfix against the astpsdat database, and it ran with no errors. I'm trying to run dbdefrag, but it seem hung at item 3341710 in file astpsdat.000 pass 1. HD activity is virtually 0, but RDS is consuming > 90% CPU.

I've been trying to pack this database for about 2 weeks, but can't seem to get it to work. The first time I ran it, I ran out of virtual memory and it stopped. I tripled my pagefile (spread across 2 drives). I only have about 568MB left on the drive that contains the database. Is that a problem? It doesn't seem to be using any space - windows reports that amount still free.

Anyone seen this before? Is there anything I can do short of initializing the detail database?

Thanks in advance.
