dbca creating dbase - many oracle errors

Using dbca Oracle 9.2.0 (Solaris8) to create database, many errors including a "lost connection to oracle" but hitting 'ignore' option gets around and datbase is built and appears OK. Any known problems here? (Haven't used dbca before).
