DB2 instance creation failure 1

Hi,

Grateful if someone familiar with DB2 installation could help. I'd been tring to install version 5.2 on AIX4.3.3 & 2 x HP-UX 11.00 machine but all fail at the db2setup "DB2 instance creation".

The error message in the db2setup.log is "DBI1069E Unexpected error. Function = chk_kernel_conf, Return code = 20"

Have you contacted IBM. I have the same problem on HP-UX 11.00. It looks to me like there is a problem with the kernel parameters, I found a link with a list of kernel parameter settings at

https://aurora.vcu.edu/db2help/db2cy/db2cy28.htm.

But if you are getting this on AIX then that may not be the answer. I will let you know if I get any where with this problem.

You're right. I finally managed to install it on my HP-UX 11.00 machine after tuning the kernel parameters. I have yet to try reinstalling on AIX though. Thank-U very much.
