DateTime / Date conflict

I have a field that I have to store in the database as a DateTime field. I'm wanting to use the select expert to have a start time and end time in the report. However, when using these parameters, the users don't want to see the time as they make their selections. If I make my parameters to be date only, they're no longer visible in the select expert with the database field.

Any ideas of a creative solution??

Go to file,
report options,

you will see at the top an option which says, convert date-time field, from the drop down list select To date
