Hi

We have a report with From Date and To Date as a parameter passed to the report. We are using Business Objects 5.0 for the reporting. Can somebody advise me how to create these fields. Can I use prompts ? If i can use prompts how to do date validation If he enters a wrong date like (02/30/2003) How do i validate ? How do i validate From date < To Date ? Can i store these dates into a local variable and use these variables in a report header centered as shown below once the user clicks Run Button

From Date1 To Date1

After a small bit of testing.....

BO won't let you run the query if you enter an invalid date. I don't see any error messages, but it won't run a query that will break.

You can't validate that From_Date < To_Date, but if you use the between operator, it doesn't care what order you enter the parameters. It will just pick the dates that are between the dates you enter.

You can put these values on the report using the UserResponse function. Or Insert->Special Fields->Query Prompts. Steve Krandel

Thanks skandel.

How do i use the value stored in the prompt into a variable and use that variable to print the header using userresponse function.

Please provide me with some sample example as i am new to BO
