Date question in MS Access 1

Is there a way to covert a text field with a date in it to a date field. I imported a spread sheet from excel which had a date field as text.

Certainly. Use datevalue([Your field name])

you can actually have an alternatvie for that
change the filed properties in excel sheet before you import it you can do that by selecting the date cells then right click choose Formate cells under the number tab choose date then identify the date formate. after doing this you can load data as date directly
