Date query 1

I have a database used as inventory/sales. I need to total the number of sales by item for a specific month. I have set up the query to include (1) date (2) item (3) item count. When I set the parameter to [date?] I get data for specific date. I need the entire month. What parameter query do I need to enter?

Between [start Date?] and [End Date?]
