Hi a simple question.
I am mail merging in Word (2002) using Access (2002) as the data source. I am using a query as the source.
I have 2 problems,
1)
The date format in Access is (dd/mm/yyyy) but when the date is brought across to Word it has the format (mm/dd/yyyy). ie 15/10/2002 is appearing as 10/15/2002.
When I check the Mail Merge Recepients list, the date is 10/15/2002.
I have checked the Date format in Access and have also run a report in Access and the dates appear correctly ie 15/10/2002
My Regional Options (in control panel) are set to English (United Kingdom), Short date is set to dd/MM/yyyy and long date to ddMMMMyyyy
2)Null date fields are appearing as 12:00:00 AM

Can anyone help. I know I must be missing something very simple here?

Thanks

Andy

I think you need to use the Format function in your query to get the date in dd/mm/yyyy format. Although it might look right in the query builder, Access uses US format (mm/dd/yyyy) when processing SQL. Read more about this, including an example of how to get round the problem, at
If that doesn't help enough to resolve the problem, post the SQL of your query here and I'll take a look. [pc2]

Many thanks, had a feeling that might be the problem but wasnt sure how Access was holding the date. Am use to working with Oracle databases,So the SQL should be no problem.
Many thanks again
