Date changed to DMY in Options->Fields but still getting MDY

Crystal Reports V9.

I have changed the 'Date' and 'Date and Time' format fields under File, Options, Fields so that it displays as DayMonthYear but when I'm setting up default dates for a date parameter field it's looking for these in the M/D/Y format.

Is there somewhere else I need to set-up the default date?

Pretty sure it will follow the Windows default for parameter display.
