DataStage transformers

I've created a job with two transformer an run it. It looks like it is slower than splitting that job into two different jobs with one transformer each. Is it normal an is there an explanation for this? I just can't figure out why the two different jobs would be faster (i need to write the info in an additionnal sequential file so the job #2 will be able to get the info).
