Datagrid Columns

I am using the datagrid in vb.net and would like to use the columnName instead of the columnIndex. Is this possible? The datagrid.item does not provide a means of entering the columnName. Is there a way to use the columnName instead of the columnIndex in the datagrid when getting values of the cells?
