Hey everybody

I have just a short question: Is it possible to run a access database from a CD without Microsoft access installed. I want to make a database with product information to send to clients.

tnx

Hi Hans,

I suspect this is not possible. To run the database at all you would need either full or run-time Access installed on the computer. As a devoted Access developer it pains me to say so, but I think a spreadsheet might be a better way - with the data exported directly from your database of course! jobo123

No you can not for more than one reason the biggest problem is in order to view the database you must have a .ldb file that Access uses to know who is logged into the database. This file has to be written to the same directory as the database and if it is on a CD that would not be possible unless it was on a rewritable CD and the client had a burner. Your best bet is to create a spreadsheet or use Power Point and create a slide show to showcase your products. If your familiar with Flash you could do a presentation in that.

Good luck.
