I created a table in Access and I have one field that is a hyper link to excel files.

now I'm in Dreamweaver.

I create a record set and I want to search a person that has a excel file

The the results would be: ID....Name.......Excel Link

Then I want to click the link result and download the excel file.

can this be done...?

I don't think its like setting a link to small text or an image...I think its more envolved.

Can someone help?

What programming language are you using? You want the link to the excel file to be downloadable right?? The only way you can have a .xls file downloadable is if you zip the file, otherwise IE and NS will just open the file inside the browser (kind of like a PDF document).

The problem with JS is that behaves differently in different browsers. IE behaviors are different then NS, and now you have Firefox to deal with also.
