Database format - how to determine...

Hi Guys,

I am trying to connect to a database, but I don't know what format it is in. How can one determine the format ?

I am actually trying to connect to a Championship Manager 4 savegame - maybe someone here knows how to do it ? I would like to be able to pull info from the DB (savegame).

If someone could point me in the right direction, it would be great.

What's the extension on the file?

It's a savegame file for the game, but I have seen a lot of utils and tools that access this file and extract information, and I would like to be able to do the same.

I have done a search on the web, but have been unable to find any info.
