Hello all,

I had admin rights to Microsoft SQL studio 2003. I am trying to delete a table or namely a database. However I corrupted a table and it will not allow me to view or delete anything withing the database.

I was uploading about 200k records from an access database, when I accidentally shut off my computer(power strip). I figured I'd go back into it and delete the table, however i get many error messages about "exceptions".

I tried shrinking the log and the data, and I keep on getting exception errors. Is there anyway to delete or repair this?

Thank you

First we need to know what version of SQL Server you are using. There is no such think as "Microsoft SQL Studio 2003". Your choises are SQL Server 2000 and SQL Server 2005.

The version of SQL Server which you have will dictate the options which are available as to what you can do.

Do you need to recover the data within the database, or can you simply delete the entire database and recreate it?

My apologies,

I have MS SQL server 2005. The program i use is MS SQL Server Management Studio.

I would like to delete it as i could always recreate the data.

Thank you for viewing

Not a problem.

You should be able to simply right click on the database and select drop database, then create a new database and upload the data again.

All data currently in the database will be lost using this method.
