I am trying to use a visual foxpro database, I am using Crystal Reports Version XI and I am recieveing the following error when trying to select some of the tables:
Database Connector Error: 'DAO Error Code: Oxccb
Source: DAO.fields
Description: Unexpected error from external database driver(8961)'

What does all this mean and how can I get access to those tables?

What connectivity are you using?

Visual Fox had many versions, and different file structures, so stating your software versions should help, Crystal and Fox.

Try using ODBC.

I am using an ODBC. the Visual Fox is 6.0 and the file structure is for an accounting program SBT. It is allowing some of the tables, just not all.

Hmmm, perhaps the driver isn't compatable with all of the data types within the tables.

You might try cheating this by LINKing (not importing) the tables into MS Access and using Access as the report source.

Some of the files are DBF, some are CDX, BAK, and FPT should I be using the ODBC for all of those? And how do I LINK the tables when I cannot select them.
Thanks much for your help

DBFs are the only files you should be linking to, the others aren't data files.

CDX is an index, BAK is a backup, FPT is a report (going from a leaky ole memory here).

I am still having issues. The particular table I am trying to get at is a dbf, it only contains 147 records with 47 fields and has a lenght of 386 so I don't think it's too big. It is an access/excel dBase 5.0 database type and I still cannot get it over into Crystal to use...I keep getting that same error. What else can I try?
