database acting up

something happened and i lost most of my relationships. Also, when I try to open a form through a button on my switchboard, i get the following error message:

The expression On Open you entered as the even property setting produced the following error: Object or class does not support the set of events.

*The expression may not result in the name of a macro, the name of a user-defined function, or [Event Procedure].
*There may have been an error evaluating a function, event, or macro.

Any ideas what may have happened and how I can get things running again would be greatly appreciated.
