I have a field call BoxSize in my table.
The data type is currently number.
The only entries are 1.2 and 2.4.
Everytime I try to change it to "text", this is what happens:

It says it is updating the data types and then it just sits there and never finishes!

I've tried this countless times and it never works.
I've never had this problem before and I don't know what to make of it.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Try compacting the database before you try changing the datatypes again. Whenever you have a strange problem in Access you should always try compacting first. If you've made too many changes to the structure or names of the database objects, Access sometimes forgets what it's doing.

It may not work, but it's always worth a shot.
