Data Store Moving

I have a SQL ox with my data store on it. It requires to be "retired". I have a new SQL box. What I would like to do is.

Backup old data store.
Kill old box.
Rename new box with old box name and IP
Restore database.

This seems despicably simple. What is the glaring hole.


Basically I neew to retire the old SQL and replace with the new one. I have to use the same name and IP for other database connectivity issues.

Any ideas.
