I want to administer my Definity G3si via the netcon channels. Is the 8400B data module my only option? The documentation for the 7400A and B say they are for G1 and G2, etc. Will they work with a G3? Thanks for any information.

7400B will work just fine. Keep in mind that the 7400B requires a port off of a TN754 digital card.

Both of the 7400's will work. Generally the 7400A was used for printers and the 7400B for terminals. The 7400 data modules are 4 wire digital. If you are using the same type of digital stations you can use the same port as your digital station. The 7400B setup is very easy. The 7400A you need the correct options. Avaya should have a manual on line.

What about the 8400B? Is that two wire? We just removed our TN754B card to get a slot, so I don't have a chance of putting it back. Is my only option the 8400B data module then?

If you only have 2 wire digital cards then the 8400B is your only choice. 7400 series data mods will not work on a two wire digital card.
