I am wondering what I need to be able to set up two com ports for a CDR software package we are looking at purchasing. We have a Definity G3si v6.0. I have TN2224 digital line cards installed. I assume I will need to purchase a 8400B data module.
My question is do I only need to use two available ports off of the digital line card and make them data module extensions and attach the data module to them, or do I need some other piece of hardware to accomplish this. I have seen other post that require more cards in the switch for data processing?

In pbx have a dce port named EIA you can set to Primary cdr so you only need one port for second cdr link. And then you need setup data exentsion name type is [netcon] to connect between cpu and data module , but this [netcon] is not occupy digital line circuit, it is built-in in cpu.

So for the second port do I use the netcon. How do I physically attach it to the data module without using a port from the line card?

I Did this once with an ordnary RS232 splitter. I placed the splitter on the Data module then plugged the CDR systems to the ports on the splitter. I then had one CDR port taklkig to two CDR programs at the same time.

Hope this helps
