Hi,

I have a very strange problem. The data in the listview is not showing. It only occurs on one machine which rules out anything like the e.g. the data source. I copied and registered the appropriate .ocx's from a machine which hasn't got the problem so it cannot be anything to do with references.

It seems to be somekind of setting or something. I know that there is data in the listview but for some reason it doesn't show!!!!

Any ideas?

You didn't say if it is on a network, but I've seen stuff like that caused by a bad or improperly set up network connection. Check to make sure you got full-duplex on the card, download diags for the card and run it, etc. Sometimes an additional Me.Refresh, Me.Requery will cause the data to appear. In a nutshell, the server does not send the data back because a fault in the networking is keeping the request-for-data signals from making a round trip. You also might want to make sure the offending machine is at the same Office SP level as the others. There was a bug like that in the initial release of Office 2000.

Thnx for the reply vbajock.

Carried out your suggestions except for the me.refresh, me.requery which I did earlier and didn't help. Unfortunately no luck.

Sorry about leaving out the configuration:

Access 2000 adp, connected to SQL Server 2000 dbase. Listview version 6 (same problem occurs with version 5).

--------------------------------------------------------

I copied the exact same adp to 2 different machines with no problems so it must be machine specific.

The code must be ok because I tested it on other machines.

The function which fills the listview with data is the same for every listview in the application.

Every listview shows the same problem.

From this I can only come to think that the problem is somewhere "outside" Access.

What do you think about the analyses? Am I leaving anything out?

What do you think?

This would be my list of what is machine specific:

Network hardware problems (run cards diag software)
Service pack & OS level (download, apply SP3 for Office, Windows Update for OS)
ODBC Driver version for SQL Server (check version in ODBC config against working stations)
Corrupt ODBC driver (re-install)
DLL, OCX versions (you said you covered that)

Maybe someone else could think of more!

vbajock,

tnx a lot for your replies, i'll try what I haven't done yet.

Out of desperation I reinstalled Office, this did not solve the problem.

I then decided to format C and install everything again, ONLY THIS WORKED!!!!!!!!!
